We happened to spy Browne's as we were in the area and absolutely ravenous and it just so happened to be the first place we came across.

I had never been here before, nor had I even heard of it, but I was pleased with the look of the place, spacious, comfortable, and lots of free space so we could sit and have a good chat while we waited. and wait we did.

We were shown to our table reasonably quickly, and the waitress took our drinks orders. We perused the small but ample menu while we waited, and after some fifteen minutes, it became apparent that we had been forgotten about.

We managed to locate the waitress who apologised and brought our drinks then took our orders.

I ordered the lasagne which someone has already mentioned, and we received our food around 20 minutes later. It was a great big portion, and was extremely tasty - worth the wait!

The price was pretty reasonable too, came to just over £20 for two of us which included a few soft drinks too.

If I was around the area again I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Ah there's many a person has come in here after a hectic day's shopping on the Boucher Road. This is a good-sized pub with plenty of room Traditional wooden style, as you'd expect in pubs over here. This is just the spot to unwind after shopping. The staff are friendly and you can sit back and relax over a few drinks.

If the shopping gets you hungry as well as thirsty then you can get fed here too. Not the biggest menu in the world, but I think it's ample for this place - Chicken goujons, lasagne, chicken curry, fish, burgers... all the popular stuff. I had the lasagne with chips and coleslaw when I was there, and it was a hefty feed. It all tasted pretty good. It wasn't like lasagne you'd get at night in a restaurant, but for a pub I was well pleased with it.

You won't usually get much in the way of entertainment here at night because of where it is. It's away from the city centre, but doesn't have much in the way of a residential area anywhere near it, so it doesn't really have a lot of visitors to Belfast, or regulars who live locally. Still, it's a sight for sore eyes when you get that shopping lark out of the way.

I'm sitting in Browne's right now, as it happens, typing away on my phone, on my lonesome, and looking very antisocial indeed. Haven't even got my hands on the crossword yet.

Having just completed an SAS-style hit-and-run shopping excursion to a nearby sports warehouse, I found myself in need of refreshment (pint and a sarnie), popped in here and spent a good few minutes contemplating pedantry before I started typing.

Am I the most pedantic person in the world if I refuse to eat somewhere that has a menu with loads of misspellings? ("Roaast Gravey", for God's sake). I probably am. I stood at the unoccupied bar for a few minutes before a chef came over and served me. I took my drink over to a table, brushed stale chunks of bread off my seat, then perused the menu.

The bartender just called me 'love'.

I think a lot of money was put into Browne's for its opening, and it clearly has a good trade from the local industrial estate workforce, but I don't think anything's been done to it since. It looks kind of ropey and battered. I'm off home.

really nice bar and restaurant with great food. Try their salads they are great. There are pool tables upstairs. Only place really on boucher road for a drink after work.
